STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES

The aim of the conference is to set the basis for the mobilisation of a Global Anti-Apartheid Movement to hold Israel accountable for its crimes against the Palestinian people, and to work to dismantle Israeli apartheid from the Jordan River to the Mediterranean Sea. This will see an intensification of the mobilisation, organisation and coordination for global action against Israeli apartheid. The conference objectives are to:

Developing and Implementing

Develop political, legal, public diplomacy and media plans to further isolate Israel’s regime of oppression and hold it accountable, including to support or otherwise help initiate policy-level campaigns and lobbying efforts aimed at pressuring the UN, regional bodies, and states to impose targeted, lawful sanctions (starting with a comprehensive military embargo) as was done against apartheid South Africa;

Plan of Action

Determine a programme of action for the global front to dismantle Israeli apartheid including the drafting and announcement of the Johannesburg Anti-Apartheid Declaration as a tool for mobilisation, organisation, and action. The programme of action will include supporting bodies at global, regional and grassroots levels to advance anti-apartheid mobilisation and campaigns against Israel

Practical Guide

Determine a programme of action to pressure international organisations, including those concerned with international law, to address Israel’s occupation, colonialism, apartheid and genocide against Palestinians by holding the Israeli state and Israeli perpetrators of crimes fully accountable

Comprehensive Guide

Work towards developing a coordination and communication infrastructure for the global movement to take forward the objectives and programme of action.
