Reverend Frank Chikane is the Chair of the Steering Committee of the Global Anti-Apartheid Conference against Israel’s settler-colonial apartheid regime. A stalwart of the anti-apartheid struggle in South Africa, he is a member of the National Executive Committee of the African National Congress (ANC) Veterans League, and an emeritus pastor of the Apostolic Faith Mission of South Africa. He served as Director-General in the Presidency and Secretary of Cabinet from 1999 to 2009, as General Secretary of the South African Council of Churches, and was a founder and leader of the United Democratic Front (UDF). He was also Moderator of the Churches Commission on International Affairs of the World Council of Churches (WCC) from 2016 to 2022.
